NOVEL "PONCE DE LEÓN AND THE MAGIC WATER'S RITUAL"
NOVEL "PONCE DE LEÓN AND THE MAGIC WATER'S RITUAL"
NEW NOVEL AVAILABLE AT AMAZON: SEE YOUTUBE https://youtu.be/-TTpqVgUs5o The famous Juan Ponce de León, discoverer of Florida and recognized as the first European to discover new lands in America, was subjected to the Magic Water’s Ritual thanks to his friendship with the great chieftain Agüeybana of Puerto Rico.  In stories packed with history-and embellished with touches of fantasy and magic, Ponce de León, using the identity of the Spanish merchant Don Andrés de la Torre y López, offers a portrait of Spanish colonial life in the 16th century, describing numerous clashes and intrigues, often bloody, between the different components of the European culture society, the Indian communities and the black slaves. It offers a fascinating journey and describes the conquest, colonization and evangelization of Florida (including St. Augustine, in the State of Florida in the United States of America), as well as that of the island of San Juan Bautista (today Puerto Rico), the island of Hispaniola (now Dominican Republic and Haiti), Cuba (mentioning Havana and Santiago) and the island of Trinidad.  Also mentioned places of North, South and Central America, with incidents in Venezuela, Peru, Mexico, and the areas known as New Spain at the time.  Ponce de León also observed the life and work of those who, like him, were named Adelantado of La Florida and other called to govern there. The Museum of Juan Ponce de León in Santervás de Campos, his place of birth in Spain, is also mentioned.  Ponce de León’s stories confirm that colonization and evangelization were extremely difficult and full of heroic acts (and other acts, not so heroic) that motivate and stimulate our imagination. Throughout the novel, we learn about not only numerous historical incidents and sites that had to do with conquest and colonization in the 16th century, but also other situations that invite us to reflect on love, religion, resurrection, the quest for freedom and immortality, with a surprising end.
